1.
Now turn and face the flame Anger seeps in, weeping to wilt Molten steel ending a thirst Raging embers, crashing hammers Bludgeoning on despotic swine Seething rage seeks to erase Your palaces are caving in Disintegrate the abscessing skin No price is worth setting a scorch to pyre This anger ignites, engulfs and makes me whole Nothing is worth scorching the willows Facing the flame
2.
Incisions and sutures burst Sanguine flood A gash at the slough Setting sun Solvent rage A gash at the slough Blood seeps, drenching the wool Rising spire The venom is in Surge through the seams The edge of the knife Draws an outline The venom is in Sedated flora The sound of a pulse Cacophony unheard The sound of a pulse Unheard Iron bath seeps, drenching the wool Washing with acid Crawl across vomit “Don’t bite back your oppressors” But all I hear are the crashing of hammers Rain, bring me peace Help me to see Power is war Filth proposition We reject I begin to see with my own eyes I lay waste old flesh, I kneel at the altar in this church of violence Rain, bring me peace The rats be damned, the drums begin to pound I slit my throat for the offering Break my fingers one by one but you forgot I have the knife With every breath I lay my life to this everlasting light inside this church of violence
